James and Sherry Carnahan, founders of Molly’s Wheels of Hope, are no strangers to the animal rescue community. They are often found dropping everything to assist in the search & rescue of an animal in need, opening their home to foster pets (particularly those who are ailing or need a bit of extra TLC before adoption), providing animal rescue transport or supporting local wildlife rescue organizations. They have a special passion for helping sick, injured and special needs animals.
In 2019, Sherry published her first children’s picture book, Molly Gets Her Wheels. This book details the real-life story of their dog Molly who was paralyzed in a tragic accident. At the time, Sherry prayed that something good would come of the incident and they did, starting with a newspaper article that spurred a community into acts of kindness. Sherry knew that she wanted to donate the proceeds of the book to help animals like Molly but struggled to find the right organization to donate to. After brainstorming with her family, the dream of creating a non-profit to help sick, injured and special needs animals was born. Molly’s Wheels of Hope is that dream come true.
